Microsoft has released the Visual Studio SharePoint 2010 Power tools extension which allows you to deploy a new kind of Visual WebPart as part of a Sandboxed solutions (though it has some limitations related to debugging, javascript etc.).
Another important extension is the Silverlight WebParts extension that now allow us to create Silverlight WebParts from Visual Studio 2010. There are two templates called "Silverlight WebPart" and "Silverlight Custom WebPart".
